Search on River Fergus: Day 3

The search continued today with search teams on the water at 10.00, teams were stood down at 16.00.

The search will resume tomorrow morning.

Search on River Fergus : Day 2

The search for the young man who was last seen entering the water in the River Fergus continued today.

The Gardaí, The Civil Defence and Doolin Coast Guard began the search at 10.00 am. Later, divers from the Burren Sub Aqua Club searched parts of the river and towards evening, Limerick Search and Rescue searched with divers in the water.

The search was stood down at 21.00

The search will continue tomorrow.

Search on River Fergus

Doolin Coast Guard were tasked to assist Ennis Fire Brigade and the Gardaí in the search for a man who was seen entering the River Fergus in Ennis.The D-Class was launched from a slipway close to the last sighting of the man and a search of the river then carried out. There were also searchers along the banks and the Shannon based Coast Guard helicopter conducted an aerial search. The Civil Defence also had kayak searchers on the river.

All searchers were stood down at dark and search will resume in the morning.

Doolin Pier

Doolin Coast Guard assembled for callout at 16.00 for reported swimmer in difficulty, off Doolin Pier. The team were stood down shortly after when it transpired that it was a mistaken observation.

Liscannor Bay Swim

Flare

Doolin Coast Guard launced the Delta to investigate a reported sighting of a flare near The Cliffs of Moher at Aill na Searach. The area was searched with nothing found.
