ATV Course

10 Members completed a Honda ATV riding skills course today. Another 3 members will undertake the course in the coming days. The course involved classroom tuition and practical sessions in the safe handling of All Terrain Vehicles. The team use the ATV primarily to transport equipment to remote locations but it is also used in other circumstances such as searches.

Lahinch School Visit

Doolin Coast Guard members visited Lahinch National School last week. The team talked to the children about water safety , The Irish Coast Guard and showed them some of the equipment

Doolin Coast Guard unit was tasked to assist Ennistymon Gardaí in a search for a person. The team assembled . A short time after searches had commenced,  the team was stood down as the person was located safe and well .

Climbing St Andrews Church, Teach Ceoil, Ennistymon

Coast Guard members climbed the tower of St Andrews Church, The Teach Ceoil in Ennistymon today as part of the St. Patricks Day Parade. Children were also shown some knots.

900m

900 m of new rope hanging to dry after it was washed. It will replace older ropes and go into service as part of Doolin Coast Guard units total of 2600 m of rope.
