Broken Ankle

DSCN0257Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC , Valentia  to a call out at Pol na Mongach , North of Doolin . A lady had fallen on rough ground and broken her ankle. Team members who were on scene very quickly and attended to her and then assisted HSE Paramedics and stretchered her to the Shannon based Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115.

Search Skills

Doolin Coast Guard members completed their Search Skills course by completing a number of night searches at Gregans Woods. The rest of the course was delivered over the weekend with theory and practical exercises.

Doolin Coast Guard members took part in the local St.Patricks Day parades over the weekend , Lisdoonvarna, Fanore and Ennistymon. The team put on a climbing demonstration at St.Andrews Church in Ennistymon while members showed children harness’s and other equipment.


Overdue Hill Runner

Doolin Coast Guard Unit was tasked by MRSC, Valentia, to assist when a runner was reported overdue in the Gleninagh area, north of Doolin. There was a mist coming down on the hill . The team assembled and proceeded to the area to commence searches. The runner was located a short time later having made their way off the path and on to Ballyvaughan.
