Station Open Day

The Doolin Unit of the Irish Coast Guard would like to extend an  invitation to all to join us on Sunday April 26th between 12.00 and 5.00 for our Station Open Day. Team members will show you around the building and demonstrate equipment . There will be music throughout the day and a display of children’s art work  from all over North Clare IMG_4726

Advanced SAR Training

Doolin Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC, Valentia, to assist with a search for an oyster fisherman near Moyasta , Kilrush. The team assembled , took the D-Class by road to the search area and assisted in the search. Kilkee, Ballybunion and Doolin Coast Guard Teams alongside Kilrush and Fenit RNLI crews all took part in the search. The Gardai, Customs Officers and locals also assisted in the search for the missing man. The body of the fisherman was recovered .

Ankle injury

Doolin Coast Guard was tasked to assist Rangers at the Cliffs of Moher with a walker who had injured their ankle.The team treated the casualty and stretchered him back to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre where a HSE Ambulance was waiting.

Leg Injury

Doolin Coast Guard was tasked today by MRSC, Valentia , to assist with a walker who had suffered a leg injury on the Cliff path. The Shannon based Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, was also tasked and landed in a field nearby. The team stretchered the casualty to the helicopter , she was the airlifted to hospital in Limerick.
