Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia , to assist with a Medevac from Crusheen. A patient was airlifted by the Shannon based Coast Guard Helicopter, Rescue 115.

Medi Vac from Lahinch

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked to assist with a Medi-Vac at Lahinch. The HSE Ambulance Service was enroute to the location with a young patient. The team assembled at the football field at Lahinch secured a landing site and laid down smoke signal for the Shannon based Coast Guard Helicopter , Rescue 115 , to land. The patient was transferred from the Ambulance to the Helicopter and transferred to Galway. Team returned to base and stood down.

Swimmers near Spanish Point

Doolin Coast Guard Team was tasked by MRSC Valentia , to assist in the recovery of three swimmers who were drifting out to sea North of Spanish Point . Team members assembled and proceeded to the area , they located the swimmers and informed MRSC Valentia of the their position. The Shannon based helicopter, Rescue 115 arrived on scene and swimmers were winched on board to safety. The Aran Islands RNLI Lifeboat was also enroute from Liscannor where it had been taking part in an event earlier with The IRCG Helicopter . Kilkee Coast Guard Unit and Lahinch Rescue were also tasked and responded as well as Ennistymon Gardaí. Doolin team members returned to base and stood down.

JSAR Games

Well done to Doolin Team member, Andy Grindrod , who was part of the team that won the Canada Cup for Best Inter Region Team at the JSAR games in Ballycastle , Co Antrim at the weekend.
Meanwhile , four other team members completed a Navigation course in Costeloe Bay , Galway with Maritime SAR, over the weekend.
