Spanish Point

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia , to assist the HSE Ambulance Service at Spanish Point. The team assembled and travelled to the area to assist in transporting an injured person from a rocky area of beach at Spanish Point to the ambulance.

Training with Lifeguards

Doolin Coast Guard team visited The Clare Water Safety Centre in Whitestrand to meet with The Water Safety Officer and Lifeguards . Coast Guard members presented an overview of the Coast Guard and demonstrated some equipment while the Lifeguards spoke about their training.

Cliffs of Moher

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia, to assist with a person in distress at the Cliffs of Moher. Members of Ennistymon Gardaí, a Cliffs of Moher Ranger and Coast Guard members spoke with the person for a while. All team members stood down a short time later and returned to base.

Possible boat in distress

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia , to launch the Delta boat and search for a boat in possible difficulty. A member of the public had reported lights at sea that may have been signalling distress. The team assembled , launched the Delta and proceeded to the area off Freagh Point. Kilkee Coast Guard team was also tasked and carried out searches while the Shannon Coast Guard Helicopter, Rescue 115 also assisted. Other team members searched from the coast for any signs of vessels in difficulty. Nothing was found and teams stood down.
