Medevac of injured biker

Doolin Coast Guard members assisted with a motor bike accident a few miles from Doolin . They provided first aid to the casualty until the NAS Paramedics and Air Ambulance Paramedics arrived .

Injured person, Doolin area

Doolin Coast Guard responded to a call from MRSC, Valentia to a report of an injured person on the cliff path near Doolin. The team assembled at the rescue centre and divided into teams to search from various locations along the cliff path. The NAS had also been tasked . There had been confusion of location due to language difficulties, the correct location was established by the NAS with the assistance of an interpreter.Shortly after it transpired that the person was in a hostel in Doolin, the NAS service attended to the casualty and the team stood down.

Engine failure

The team was tasked by MRSC , Valentia , to go to the assistance of a RIB in difficulty off Liscannor. The person had made contact with Shannon Coast Guard Radio when the boats engine failed to start and he was in danger of running aground. Shannon Coast Guard Radio stayed in communication with the vessel while the Doolin Coast Guard team travelled to Liscannor to launch the D-Class. The Delta boat was prepared and ready to launch from Doolin if required. The D-Class crew were on scene and  the boats engine had restarted , no further assistance was required.

Head injury from shore fall

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia , to an incident at Clahane , Liscannor. A woman had slipped on rocks on the shore , sustained a head injury and was unconscious. The team assembled and assisted the HSE NAS with the casualty. The Shannon Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter had also been tasked and was on scene if required. The casualty was treated and stretchered to the ambulance.
