At 04.00 Doolin Coast Guard were put on standby for a possible call out at the Doolin Cave System.

Three cavers were unable to get out of the cave due to rising water at the entrance. ICRO were at the scene since 03.00. Doolin Coast Guard were called to assist at 08.30. Also at the scene were the Gardaí, and the Fire Service with pumping equipment. The Sligo based Coast Guard Helicopter assisted by collecting specialised cave radio equipment from Enniskillen and taking it to Doolin.

The cavers were safely assisted from the Fisher Street pot, having been in the cave for over 20 hours. All were well.
