Doolin Coast Guard Unit was tasked by MRSC Valentia, at 11.30 to go to the assistance of two surfers at Rileys, South of Dough Mór Bay, along with Kilkee Marine Rescue and the Shannon based Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter.A member of the public called the emergency services from shore when he saw the surfers in difficulty. Doolin Coast Guard Boat launched and proceeded to the scene while members of Doolin Coast Guard went by road, the Doolin D-Class also followed by road. Kilkee Marine Rescue located the casualties in the water and took them on board , they were then airlifted by Rescue 115 , attended to and taken to Hospital.
The Doolin Coast Guard Boat was stood down as they passed Hags Head and the Doolin D-Class and other team members also returned to base as their assistance was no longer needed.
The Doolin Coast Guard Boat then proceeded to Galway where they were on duty for the Volvo Ocean Race until 20.00

At 14.10 today Doolin Coast Guard Delta was tasked to go to the Kilkee area.The Doolin Delta was in the Doonbeg area acting as safety boat for a Currach event when they were called. They proceeded to the scene where a person was in difficulty in the water at the Pollock Holes. While en route the team was stood down as the casualty had been safely taken from the water by another boat.

At 12.20 today Doolin Coast Guard were paged to go to Spanish Point to assist a swimmer in difficulty.The Shannon based Coast Guard Helicopter were also tasked to the scene. The Doolin Delta boat was on route to Doolin pier for launch when the team were stood down. The swimmer had been taken from the water and was then airlifted to Shannon to an awaiting ambulance.

Coast Guard members assembled at base to prepare the Delta Rib for launch to assist swimmers in difficulty at Spanish Point. Other members went to the scene by road. Before launch the unit were stood down. Surfers at the scene had assisted the swimmers back to shore.

At approximately 13.00 Doolin Coast Guard Unit were tasked to assist two windsurfers who were in danger of being pulled out further to sea at Spanish Point. While the Delta was being prepared for launch the team were stood down. The windsurfers had made their way back to shore safely.

This evening at 19.30 Doolin Coast Guard were paged to assemble at base for a call out. A member of the public saw a jet ski off Crab Island and what they believed to be a person in difficulty in the water near by.
Doolin Coast Guard D-Class launched and went to the jet ski, Doolin Delta also launched and a search commenced. Very shortly after both boats were told to stand by as it was confirmed that there was no person in the water.
Jet skiers had earlier tied their jet ski to the mooring off Crab Island as it was too rough to recover it at the pier. Doolin Coast Guard assisted them in recovering the jet ski under rough conditions.
