Aran to Doolin Swim

The Aran to Doolin Swim took place today with all 13  swimmers completing the 10 k swim from Inis Óirr  to Doolin Pier. The event was organised in aid of  Temple Street Children’s Hospital , funds raised will go towards providing a new National Neuro – Surgery Unit for the Hospital.

All swimmers were partnered with a safety kayaker .Doolin Coast Guard  boats were present  along with Ennis Civil Defence, Burren Divers , Ennis Sub Aqua Club and some other boat owners.

Well Done to all 13 swimmers.

  • IRCG do not provide safety cover for any event. event organisers must do that. we normally don’t have a problem with being on the water during an event but we musn’t be used to lessen in any way the event organisers responsibility to provide a safety plan and appropriate safety cover. If a difficulty arises it is their responsibility and we will step in in the event of that needing support.
