Over 1500 people took part in the Clare Burren Marathon Challenge today. Most took part in the mini marathon and the half marathon while over 300 completed the 26 mile route from Ballyvaughan on green roads and the Burren Way, on to the Caher Valley trail, over Blackhead and back to Ballyvaughan.

Doolin Coast Guard members assisted ICRO ( Irish Cave Rescue Organisation) in their role as First Aid Support for competitors on the off road sections of the route. The Red Cross provided First Aid support on the road sections of the event.
