Divers recover body and call out to Cliffs

Doolin Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC, Valentia , to assist with the recovery of a body. The Burren Divers had been diving off Lough Point , when they discovered a body at a depth 24 metres. They marked the location and returned to the pier in Doolin to alert the emergency services. The Delta was launched and the D-Class proceeded from Lahinch. The Burren Divers returned to the location with the Doolin Coast Guard boat and the divers retrieved the body.The body was recovered to the Coast Guard Boat and returned to Doolin
Incident 51/16
Just after the Delta launched the team was tasked to assist with an incident south of the Cliffs of Moher. A man had suffered a stroke while on the cliff path.Coast Guard members went to the Cliffs, and the Shannon Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter, Rescue 115 had also been tasked .The casualty was assisted by HSE Ambulance Paramedics and the team stretchered the casualty to the helicopter.

Young girl airlifted from Aillwee mountain

Doolin Coast Guard was notified by Gardaí that a young girl had injured her leg on Aillwee mountain and needed assistance.MRSC, Valentia, set off Doolin Coast Guard team pagers and the Shannon Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, was also tasked. The young girl and her family were lifted from the mountain by helicopter, it then landed in an open field below Aillwee Cave and the casualty was transferred to the waiting HSE Ambulance.

Kayakers assisted, Liscannor Bay

Doolin Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC, Valentia, to assist kayakers in difficulty in Liscannor Bay. The four had left Liscannor earlier but got into difficulty when sea conditions changed quickly, one kayaker had fallen from the kayak and was unable to get back on due to conditions. The Team responded with the Delta and D Class boats while other team members went directly to Liscannor Pier. The Shannon Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, had also been tasked as well as lifeguards from Lahinch. A local boat, Kilstiffan, was in the area and went to the kayakers assistance. The four were taken onboard and taken in to the Pier in Liscannor where all were assessed by the helicopter paramedic.

Missing kayakers

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked for a third time today , by MRSC , Valentia, to search for two kayakers. The kayakers had left Trácht beach, Kinvarra earlier on an inflatable kayak and had not returned. The team assembled , launched the Delta and proceeded to the area, while others went by road to commence searches from the coast. The Shannon Coast helicopter, Rescue 115 and the Galway RNLI Lifeboat were also tasked. The kayakers were located by the helicopter and taken onboard the Galway Lifeboat.

Injured walker on cliff path

Doolin Coast Guard team responded when tasked to assist with a second injury on the cliff path , this time North of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre.The team assisted HSE Paramedics , along with Cliffs of Moher Rangers, to treat the casualty and stretcher to the ambulance.

The team are currently responding to a third incident elsewhere
