Climber airlifted from Ballyreen

Doolin Coast Guard Unit was tasked today by MRSC , Valentia to an incident at Ballyreen, a popular climbing area North of Doolin. A climber had sustained injuries in a fall. A HSE Ambulance was at the scene but needed further assistance to extract the casualty who had fallen about 4 metres . The team went to the area and the Shannon Based Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter Rescue 115,  was also tasked. Team members attended to the casualty, the helicopter arrived, lowered their Winch  Man and he attended to the climber along with a HSE Advanced Paramedic who had also been called. The casualty was airlifted to Galway University Hospital.

Team stood down.
