At 09.25 today, MRSC, Valentia tasked Doolin Coast Guard Unit to investigate an activated EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) off  Quilty. The EPIRB belonged to a fishing vessel working out of Seafield Pier in Quilty. Some members went to Seafield Pier and confirmed that the boat in question was alongside at the pier. The EPIRB had been accidentally acivated , they contacted the owner and he deactivated the EPIRB.  Coast Guard members stood down.
