TEAM

Members

The members of the coastal units are volunteers, as can be imagined there is a large time commitment involved. Not just for callouts which for the Doolin unit averages about twenty per year but also for the training schedule.

The team trains on a weekly basis. The boat crews also train at weekends. Maintenance, organisation and training courses also add to the time load.

The majority of the team are self employed and living within a short distance of the station. There are approximately 4500 man hours per year involved before any callouts.
