Doolin Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC, Valentia, to assist kayakers in difficulty in Liscannor Bay. The four had left Liscannor earlier but got into difficulty when sea conditions changed quickly, one kayaker had fallen from the kayak and was unable to get back on due to conditions. The Team responded with the Delta and D Class boats while other team members went directly to Liscannor Pier. The Shannon Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, had also been tasked as well as lifeguards from Lahinch. A local boat, Kilstiffan, was in the area and went to the kayakers assistance. The four were taken onboard and taken in to the Pier in Liscannor where all were assessed by the helicopter paramedic.
