Man Airlifted from Pol Sallagh
At 17.05, MRCC Valentia , tasked Doolin Coast Guard Unit to an incident at Pól Sallagh, two and a half miles North of Doolin. A man had fallen from the rocks into the water.Doolin Coast Guard Delta boat was on another callout and searching off Inis Óirr. Doolin team members were already assembled at Doolin Coast Guard base, having prepared a landing site for Shannon Coast Guard Helicopter , Rescue 115 ,which was to take them to an incident on Inis Óirr. Members left immediately for Pól Sallagh and the helicopter , also tasked, diverted to the scene.The Helicopter, Recsue 115, was on scene within minutes and took the casualty from the sea and transferred him to Limerick Regional Hospital. Doolin Coast Guard liased with the family members and Gardaí and MRCC Valentia arranged to get a Garda Escort for the family to Limerick. Doolin team returned to base for transfer to Inis Óirr.
