The boat is one of four new boats that the Irish Coast Guard have allocated to Coast Guard Stations on the West and North West Coasts. The current Doolin Coast Guard boat will  be stationed in Costello Bay , Ros a Mhíl.

The boat was transported by road from the UK to Doolin. On arrival at Doolin, it was lowered from the trailer by O’Briens Builders of Miltown Malbay who provided the crane.
