Pól Elva Cave

At 15.20 , Doolin Coast Guard Unit were tasked by MRCC, Valentia, to assist ICRO (Irish Cave Rescue Organisation) at Pól Elva , 3 miles north of Lisdoonvarna. One of a group of four cavers had become trapped in a passage due to a strong flow of water in the cave. Ennistymon Branch of the Clare Fire and Rescue Service, the Gardaí and the HSE Ambulance from Ennistymon also assisted. ICRO co-ordinated the rescue. All four cavers were assisted from the cave , the caver who had been trapped was checked by Ambulance personnel and no further attention was required.

All emergency services and Doolin Coast Guard Unit stood down at 18.30
