Recovery from Aill na Searrach

Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked at about 16.00 yesterday evening by MRSC, Valentia. Members of the public reported a person had fallen from the cliffs North of O’Briens Tower ,  Cliffs of Moher.  Rescue 115 was tasked . The casualty was seen on the shore south of Aill na Searrach. Rescue 115 assessed the situation and it was not possible to attempt to winch due to proximity to the cliffs. All equipment was transported through fields to the climbing area with the quad bike and trailer.  The climbing system was set up and 6 climbers in total descended to the base of the cliffs and located the body. Members of Killkee Coast Guard had also been tasked to assist in the hauling operation . The body was recovered to the top of the cliff . The whole operation took over 7 hours in difficult conditions.
