Doolin Coast Guard team was tasked by MRSC, Valentia , to search for 2 of 4 cargo hatches that had come loose from  cargo ship, the Abis Belfast,  off the South Sound early on Monday morning due to high seas. The hatches are 11 metres by 4 metres in size and are made of steel and were a danger to navigation. Two of the hatches came ashore near Kilkee early on Friday morning . Nothing was found and Doolin Coast Guard team stood down having carried out searches from Quilty to Blackhead.
