Search for Fishing Vessel

Doolin Coast Guard was tasked by MRSC , Valentia, just before 21.00 to search for a fishing vessel, the Lady Eileen. The boat was overdue at it’s home port of Quilty with 2 people onboard.The Coast Guard Delta was launched and proceeded to an area where the boat been seen earlier in the day, off Hags Head. The Delta then carried on towards Green Island and on to Quilty and Spanish Pt.  The Shannon based Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter was tasked , along with the Aran Islands Lifeboat , Kilkee Coast Guard and Kilkee Marine Rescue.Other Doolin Coast Guard team members  went by road to search piers along the coast and also carried out searches from shore using  para illuminating flares to light up large areas. The Sligo based rescue helicopter, Rescue 118 joined in the search after the Shannon helicopter was tasked to another incident off Cork.
