by Caitriona in  Callouts

On Saturday, 09 May at 19-25 hours MRSC Valentia tasked the Doolin Coast Guard team to investigate a report from a member of the public that barrels containing toxic substances were washed up at two locations, one was at Lahinch beach and one at Clahane, west of Liscannor Pier.  Search teams were dispatched, containers were located and contents examined. They were later transported  to Coast Guard Rescue Center, Doolin.  They were safely stored until collection by Clare Co. Council officials on Monday.
