Ballyreen area on a fine day

Gardaí in Ennistymon were called by a walker who had become lost in fog while walking the Burren Way near Ballinallacken, Lisdoonvarna. MRCC Valentia then tasked Doolin Coast Guard to launch a search for the man. Teams assembled and went to different locations on the route.Teams began searching on foot and with the quad bike. They made contact with the man by phone,he was able to describe a distinctive house in the area that he could see in the distance.Team members at a high vantage point spotted the man.A SARDA Search Dog was there and available to search but not needed as a visual on the man had been established. Through phone contact and team members walking towards him and calling out his name he was found safe and well a short time after.
